stimuli was not significantly different between TRN and SED hearts (P > 0.05 unpaired t-test n = 9-10). We suggest that despite the occurrence of both cardiac hypertrophy and electrical remodelling in response to voluntary exercise, these changes do not pre-dispose the exercise trained heart to arrhythmias. Our findings are consistent with the overall beneficial effect of mild exercise on the heart. Maron BJ (2005). Heart 91, 1380-1382.

SAPHIR: a physiome core model of body fluid homeostasis and blood pressure regulation.
We present the current state of the development of the SAPHIR project (a Systems Approach for PHysiological Integration of Renal, cardiac and respiratory function). The aim is to provide an open-source multi-resolution modelling environment that will permit, at a practical level, a plug-and-play construction of integrated systems models using lumped-parameter components at the organ/tissue leve...
متن کاملThe Effect of Nucleus Tractus Solitarius Nitric Oxidergic Neurons on Blood Pressure in Diabetic Rats
It has been shown that nitric oxide is synthesized in the central nervous system as well as in vascular endothelial cells. Recently, it was reported that nitric oxide was involved in central cardiovascular regulation, baroreflex modulation, and involved in a reciprocal release with excitatory amino acids in the nucleus tractus solitarii of rats. The purpose of the present study was to investiga...

Introduction: Hypertension can accelerate other complications of diabetes mellitus, particularly cardiovas-cular disease and nephropathy. This study was carried out in order to determine the effect of applying Continuous Care Model on diabetic patients’ blood pressure. Methods: This clinical trial was performed as time series on 74 patients with diabetes mellitus type II, in Orumieh in the yea...

he circulatory system provides body organs with nutrients nd oxygen and removes carbon dioxide and other waste aterials. Most exchanges occur at the capillary bed. The apillary exchange is not fixed but regulated by several facors such as hydrostatic and oncotic pressure in the vascular nd extracellular compartments.1 Himeno et al2 tried to preict mathematically a steady state tissue volume and...

The osmoregulatory system was studied in wild adult and reared juvenile Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus. The mean osmolarity in blood serum of specimens from the Caspian Sea, estuary, the Kouraneski pools and the rearing tanks were 305.3±14.3, 308.7±25.8, 265.0±19.1 and 259.3±8.8 mosmol/L, respectively; the mean concentrations of Na+ were 151.2±6.3, 152.2±8.4, 142.5±5.9 and 131.4±4.1 meq/L...
